Barely in time for Halloween, here's my costume, which is really just a makeup job based on an idea I saw on Buzzfeed earlier this month. The shirt is one of the spookier items from the Ms. Eddington Collection, a.k.a. stuff I wore when I was a teacher. I thought the bow kind of made me seem more doll-like here.
Yesterday I changed my Facebook profile photo to the one above and received an unprecedented number of likes. Poof told me I should do a video of it, and since face painting is still technically painting, I decided to give it a try.
I've never done any kind of makeup video before, and I was surprised by how nervous I was. My hands were shaking! And they never shake when I do my watercolor videos. I truly felt like I was in a foreign YouTube realm. Once again, my hat is off to Poof and her ability to crank these videos out on a daily basis, because this was scary.
A word of warning: I appear at the beginning without makeup. To quote a woman in Wal-mart who witnessed my paleness over twenty years ago (imagine this as a stage-whisper to her friend): SHE'S SO WHITE.
