I'm in the paper today, woo-hoo! And everybody knows I'm 41 now, woo-hoo!*
Melissa Merli, a reporter from the News-Gazette (Champaign, IL), interviewed me in my studio. We talked about art and a whole lot of other things for a good hour, with Melissa writing things down on an old-school spiral note pad, and those notes turned into what you see above (click it to read it). Unfortunately the paper does not post this content online; Jeff kindly photographed the article and pieced it together for me.
So obviously this is a license to print money.
*Not that I am one of those women whose age is a closely-guarded secret, but why does the N-G always write how old their artists of the week are? [shrug]
I figure publishing ages only makes sense if someone does something when they are adorably young or terrifically old. Those in the middling range should be immune to age outing.

I concur. The mention of age is pertinent only to the achievements of pint-sized vituosi and can-do grannies.

Of course, virtuosi is spelled with an "r". Sigh.

Burano. It's a pretty long boat ride past Murano. :)

I found you through one of Roger Ebert's latest tweets, and I can't seem to leave your blog! Food, art AND kitties!? Loving it here.
