Check out my mussels! Click on the picture to make my mussels bigger. :) Thanks to two beautiful snow days in a row spent blissfully painting, they are finished. The painting is around 9 x14 inches, and I worked at a speed of approximately one shell per hour.
Meanwhile, Bun did something I've never seen before: she ventured into the basket that belongs to Quixote and Hypatia. All three cats were drunk on sun today, and this really is the sunniest place for a cat to sit. So Bun crept up there, fought off Quixote (who probably just wanted to join her), and left him a bit befuddled.
So with all of this action going on, I've been away from my computer and will answer your lovely comments from the past couple of days...sometime tomorrow. I am so knocked out by all of this painting--my eyes need a rest and my shoulder needs a massage.
Beautiful painting! You really captured the iridescence of the mussel shells. Love the kitties as always.

Wow! One of my favorite decadent special occasion meals from David Rosengarten (does he still have a show in FoodTV or elsewhere?) I could almost reach out and have one. You are that good!!!!
