You know those wind farms? Does anyone else find them as strangely beautiful yet completely creepy as I do? They somehow remind me of that scary spider creature from Johnny Quest as they march across the boring Illinois prairiescape. Except instead of the circular part, they have a rotating Mercedes logo (kids: this is not what a peace sign looks like, so please stop drawing it that way), and instead of a bunch of legs, they have a single big post. Anyway, early this week I had the following insight:
Those wind farms would look great on the cover of a Pink Floyd album. I'm kind of shocked that they haven't used wind farm imagery yet.
In an unrelated side note, I have started to wave at the 7:40 Hardcore Running Woman, but she has yet to acknowledge me or my cute car.
Her face is usually directed skyward; she seems to be concentrating on
something in the middle distance.
Additionally, I've been waking up earlier and earlier thanks our bedroom's many
curtainless windows. We live on the eastern edge of the Central time
zone, so we see the sunrise before anyone else does. The sky begins to
brighten at around 5:00, and lately I've noticed a star decorating the
shoulder of the headless nude woman created by our trees.
This morning I decided to see when the light from the impending sunrise caused the star to disappear, and that time was 5:51. And this is one of the ways I entertain myself while Jeff sleeps like a normal human being.

And then at 5:52, all hell breaks loose.
