I've been monitoring the daffodil part of the yard daily, waiting for some green. Well, the green has arrived!
In other news, here's one of our hardcore winter cardinals (still no robins):
And a kitty pileup featuring a dubious yet borderline seductive Bun:
Otherwise, February has become tedious. We tried to make paella yesterday but failed and are currently surviving on an all-sandwich diet. I baked a lemon souffle pudding that was aggressively lemony and delicious but kind of plain-looking. All month long I've been doing lots of art career this-n-that, and Jeff has pretty much become my manager, which I love. Students continue to require teaching. Today I tried to convince myself that the current melty landscape, with its sandy-brown dormant grass, exposed near-black soil, and snow remnants loosely resembled s'mores and was therefore delicious, but it didn't work. In short, WINTER BLAHS.
So let's scroll back up to the top and look at the green for a while. And I'm also going to check out that fabulous man sitting next to me on the couch and watching Armageddon (which he believes is superior to Independence Day, but I'm not sure that I agree because while satisfying action cliches abound and it contains Billy Bob Thornton there's not enough destruction of famous earth landmarks).
