I couldn't help myself: I had to finish this painting before my precious, precious summer left me. And after a couple of weeks of nonstop work, it's done, it's finally done! Click the image above to see a larger version. The lower right corner is not as dark as it appears--the lighting situation in the living room is not optimal, and it's raining outside. Rain + watercolor = the world's worst equation.
I have no idea how many hours went into this. Simply drawing it was a hassle. With the exception of the wall, there were no "easy" spots on the painting. It's all about textures (fur, wicker, woodgrain, leg hair), color changes, patterns, a billion shades of brown, and books, books, books.
I'm overjoyed with it. I started crying the second I decided it was done.
And I will be back writing as usual this weekend! Thanks for sticking with me.
